Meet our team
Sunnie Q. Li
Director of NorCal Branch
Sunnie is currently a senior at Valley Christian High School. Her dream is to help and protect people in need. She also hopes to take part in developing novel treatments for diseases leveraging her interest in computational biology. So far, Sunnie completed numerous AP courses, including Computer Science P, Calculus BC, Biology, Statistics and Physics 1. Furthermore, she is certificated in Python Basics and Python Functions, Files, and Dictionaries, part of the University of Michigan Python specialization course. She uses her machine learning and coding skills, contributing a publication in Nature and other ongoing projects at Stanford University.

Cindy is a junior in Mira Costa. She is very passionate in teaching and learning math, computer science, and music. She has volunteered in an educational center for students with special needs and taught math and coding classes in different nonprofit organizations. She is currently in Symphony Orchestra at school. Over the past few years, she has taken Computer Science A and done some self-study on CS-related knowledge. She is very excited to be working on creating structured courses for students in need.

Irenka is a sophomore at CAMS and has been coding as a hobby for 3 years in python,
from coding, Irenka also enjoys reading, dancing, doing volunteer work, math, and playing the
piano and violin. She is a member of the Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra, and also
teaches young violinists there as an assistant teacher as well.
Hi, my name is Cindy. I’m a senior at Newport Senior High School in the greater Seattle area. I have been learning Java for the past year and I hope to learn lots from this opportunity with One World Anchor!

Erica is a junior at Canyon Crest Academy. She enjoys helping others in her community, and has volunteered at local animal shelters to help pets in need. She is interested in web design, graphic design, photography, and has previous experience in social media marketing. Aside from computer science, Erica is also passionate about math, music, and figure skating.

Hi I’m Olivia, part of Mission San Jose High School’s class of 2023! My favorite subjects are Science and English! Before, I’ve had fun tutoring elementary students in writing and I’ve also taken part in our school’s DECA and learned about marketing. In my spare time, I like to read about true crime, doodle, and maybe bake, although I’m not any good at it.

Short DescAs a junior at Ridge High School in NJ, Carolyn is interested in the subject of computer science (CS). She took the AP test of CS when she was in 10th grade. Although busy with her extracurricular activities at high school, Carolyn is willing to share her knowledge and learning experience about the important subject of CS.

Cathy Qu is a sophomore at Millburn High School in New Jersey. Her hobbies include drawing, reading, doing volunteer work, and playing the clarinet. She has won several Scholastic Art Awards for her work and was a past member of the North Jersey Regional Band. She hopes to self study more computer science and to gain experience in teaching in the near future.

Hi, my name is Sophia Jiang. I’m a sophomore at Bergen County Academies in New Jersey. Computer science is a fascinating area of study as well as a very crucial on in a society like ours. The world is constantly evolving and I would love to be an important part of the future. Computer science doesn’t mean you’re limited to a career of technology; you could open up a world of possibilities.

Hi, my name is Maggie and I’m a Junior at Hinsdale South High School. I enjoy helping others in my community as well as other hobbies including, reading, baking, and athletic activities. I’ve tutored and guided many young students throughout my school years and I am looking forward to contributing more to others through my past experiences and knowledge in the computer science field.

Claire is a sophomore at NNHS. She loves contributing to the community, and has volunteered at many children’s summer camps and tutoring programs. In her spare time, she loves drawing, watching true crime documentaries, and hanging out with friends.

Savanna Lee is part of Mission San Jose High School’s class of 2024. She enjoys reading, psychology, volunteering, and playing badminton. With her previous experience in tutoring, she is able to help create a community of bright minds. In the future, she hopes to learn more about business administration and computer science.
Zhen, Ren (Jim)
Jim is a junior in Kent School of Connecticut. He has interests in the field of Physics, Math and video editing. Jim lived abroad at the Rectory School at the age of 13. He had participated in multiple athletic activities such as Lacrosse. Moreover, he attended the digital art course to learn and practice how to edit videos to their best. He loves to contribute to the community and expecting to employe his precious experiences to help others and make the world better.
Jim is a senior in high school who enjoys collaborative creative pursuits. He likes wasabi, and has used MonoDevelop for Unity development far longer than it was rational. If you are astute, you may be able to find him in Boston trying to catch up on reading assigned 7 days ago.
Liana is a freshman with a pre-computer science major at CSULA. She has experience with teaching and knows C++, Java, R, and Python (to some extent). Her hobbies, alongside coding, include reading, hiking, baking, and playing/listening to music.
Richard is an 8th grader at Presidio Knolls School, San Francisco. He is interested in math, coding, science, and loves reading books, especially the adventure genre. He trains and competes in skiing and soccer but also enjoys other sports like surfing, bouldering, tennis, etc. He loves hanging out with buddies and considers helping other people the best way to make new friends.
Associate professor of Stevens Institute of Technology
Dr. Ye Yang received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California in 2006. Professor Ye Yang’s research lies in the area of empirical software engineering including software process technologies, software crowdsourcing, cost estimation, defect prediction, and technical debts. Her work has been centered around applying leading statistical, data mining, machine learning, natural language processing techniques to provide software improvement solutions addressing emergent software engineering challenges. Her recent focus is on modeling, learning, and recommending best practices to reduce the cost and improve the quality of software products around the crowdsourced software engineering paradigm. These include software crowdsourcing task price design, crowd worker performance measurement, task-worker matching, and automated crowd testing management. She has served as PC Co-Chairs for the 2018 International Workshop on Crowdsourcing in Software Engineering (CSI-SE 2018), the 2018 International Workshop on Software Engineering Research and Industry Practice (SER&IP 2018), and PC member for top software engineering conferences including ICSE, ASE, and ESEM. She has published over 100 research papers, and won 5 Best Paper Awards, including the ACM Distinguished Paper Award at ICSE 2019.
Cindy graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a double major in computer science and psychology. She joined Autodesk as a software engineer and transitioned into product management because of her passion and sympathy for her customers.
Steven Zeng graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a double major in CS and Business. He worked at Amazon headquarters at Seattle for two years as a software engineer after graduated from U Mich. Steven obtained his Master of CS from University of Toronto after leaving Amazon. Currently, Steven works as a software engineer at NASDAQ.
