Xavier is a senior at Mira Costa High School. He is the co-founder and current lead instructor of CoderDojo South Bay, which provides free coding lessons for young students in the community, and has been serving as a teaching assistant for Mira Costa’s AP computer science courses. He also helped launch Mira Costa’s first Community STEM Night in 2019 and continues to serve in a student leadership role for this annual event. In addition to STEM, Xavier is passionate about music, currently playing violin in the school’s Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and professionally in the South Bay Pit Orchestra. He also serves as co-president of Mira Costa Orchestras, President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and a Global Youth Ambassador for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition, he is a part of the Mira Costa ComedySportz team, Varsity Badminton Team, and Spring Musical along with other school theater productions. Xavier loves spending time with friends and family, playing video games, and connecting with people from across the world online.
