We are delighted to welcome Professor Julian Togelius, an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at New York University and co-founder of modl.ai, an AI engine for game development, to give a talk on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Games. Professor Togelius was also the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions of Games from 2018 to 2021.
During his talk and interview with our member Cathy Qu, Professor Togelius provided an insightful introduction to AI and its relationship with video games. He also discussed some of the projects he has worked on, highlighting how video games can serve as ideal testing grounds for AI and how AI can enhance the future of game design. Cathy also asked him to give some advices to high school students who are interested in STEM fields.
